Lundbeck Foundation is sponsoring a two-year postdoctoral research associate position at The McGovern Institute for Brain Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Lundbeck Foundation offers younger researchers a unique opportunity to gain valuable training experience at a worldrenowned neuroscience community with access to a broad range of scientific technologies. The long-term mission of The McGovern Institute for Brain Research at MIT is to understand the most complex of all organs, the brain. Research at the McGovern Institute employs the full range of modern neuroscience

techniques, from molecular genetics to functional neuroimaging and computational modeling. The experimental subjects range from human volunteers to worms, and the emphasis is not on any particular technique or species, but rather on choosing whatever system is best suited to answering a given question.

This two-year postdoctoral associate position offers a competitive salary, full MIT employee benefits, and a project expense budget.

In addition, the Foundation will provide a one-off payment of DKK 60.000 to cover relocation costs. If you are bringing your partner to live with you in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the fellowship will be increased by DKK 60.000 per year. Furthermore the grant will include the equivalent of DKK 5.000 per month if you decide to uphold your Danish pension-savings while working at MIT.

Applicants who have earned or completed the requirements for a PhD degree and who have no more than four years of postdoctoral research experience, as well as strong backgrounds in fields including molecular biology, biochemistry, animal genetics and behavior, neuroengineering, bioengineering, neuroimaging and human cognition, are welcome to apply.

The chosen finalist will be selected by the McGovern Institute leadership and is expected to begin in a McGovern Institute laboratory no later than February 1, 2016. The finalist must qualify for a U.S. Work visa.
