Anne Sofie Hedemann, head of procurement at Aarhus University, is pleased to be presenting a shorter, more precise purchasing policy which describes the senior management team’s expectations with regard to procurement.

“We would like for AU to have a greater number of serviceable joint agreements that meet local needs, and so these agreements must be framed in close collaboration with the departments and centres. AU’s size and procurement volume result in good discounts and favourable terms, but in order to reap these benefits, AU must be considered a single customer,” explains Anne Sofie Hedemann.

New purchasing module in IndFak will make purchasing easier

The new purchasing policy explains the senior management team’s expectations to purchasers at AU. All units and all purchases are covered by the new university-wide purchasing agreements. If an agreement does not meet a particular need, employees can contact the purchasing unit under AU Finance.

In 2016, a purchasing module will be added to IndFak for testing and subsequent implementation. The module will make it easier to find products and services that are covered by purchasing agreements.
