Using cholesterol lowering drugs may reduce the risk of revision surgery after having a hip replacement. This is reported in an article by researchers from Department of Clinical Epidemiology. The study is based on data from the Danish Hip Arthroplasty Registry and covers 2,349 patients. Researchers found that the risk of revision surgery was reduced by 66% among patients taking statins after having a hip replacement.
