PhD student at Department of Clinical Epidemiology Sigrún Jóhannisdóttir Schmidt has received an EliteForsk travel scholarship of DKK 200,000. The travel scholarship, awarded to talented PhD students, was presented by H.R.H. Crown Princess Mary at this year’s EliteForsk Conference in Copenhagen. In total, 5 EliteResearch awards, 20 EliteResearch travel scholarships, 6 Sapere Aude Top researcher Grants and 6 Advanced Grants were presented at the ceremony. Sigrún will use the scholarship for a stay at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where she will continue working on her PhD project about the incidence of and prognosis for herpes zoster.
