We had great talks with many clinicians and researchers including, but not limited to, Christian Barton (Australia), Rich Willy (USA), Marienke van Middelkoop (the Netherlands), Daniel Theisen (Luxembourg) and Laurent Malisoux (Luxembourg).
Main message: Sudden changes is important!
Saturday morning, Rasmus Nielsen represented RUNSAFE in two running sessions entitled "Running Injuries" and "Running Shoes - does it matter". That led to interesting discussions and, most importantly, an agreement between the four presenters (Rasmus Nielsen, Daniel Theisen, Christian Barton and Rich Willy) that sudden changes is a key concept in running injury development and that running participation must be considered as a necessary cause to injury.
This is in line with the belief in RUNSAFE: we need to consider sudden changes!
