Join our journal club at Section for Prosthetic Dentistry – all are welcome
On Thursday April 22nd at 8.00-9.00 pm we have a virtual visit from our Honorary Skou Professor Irena Sailer from University of Geneva.
Irena will give a presentation titled “Reconstructive dentistry in the era of digitalisation”, and the session is open for everyone interested.
You do not need to sign up, but tick the calendar if you would like to be updated professionally by one of the world's leading researchers in the field – the section will circulate more information and Zoom-link as we approach the day.

We are pioneers in the world of education
Did you see the article ‘The eyes of the world are resting on the Aarhus Model of Dental Education’ in the faculty newsletter a few weeks ago? If not, I recommend reading it, as this article is a good reminder that the many and great efforts we have invested in developing and integrating all our education programmes do not go unnoticed internationally. We are among the first educational institutions to implement fully integrated, team-based learning within our field, and this is attracting great interest and appreciative nods from the international education milieus.
We have come a long way, and the experiences we have gained in our developing work from the beginning of the vision process in 2017 and until now, are of great interest to other dental departments and educational institutions. The Aarhus Model of Dental Education is truly a pioneering accomplishment within health education and it is something to be really proud of!

Lene Baad-Hansen, new professor of orofacial function
As you know, Lene Baad-Hansen is one of our two new professors at the department. Lene will take up the position as professor on April 1st. David Kraft is now (also) in charge of the faculty's work environment
Congratulations to associate professor and IOOS occupational health and safety manager David Kraft on his appointment as the Faculty of Health's coordinating occupational health and safety manager. David, together with the faculty's occupational health and safety committee (FAMU), which consists of working environment representatives from the departments and the administration center, will take care of the working environment at Health.
It is a huge declaration of confidence, and I am very proud that it is ‘one of ours’ who is to carry out such an important function at the faculty.
David Kraft takes over the faculty function from Professor Emerita Marianne Hokland from the Department of Clinical Medicine, who has held the position for 25 years, and David fortunately continues at the same time as our daily occupational health and safety manager.

Home office on the front page part II
The university newspaper Omnibus continues their ‘tour de chambre’ in the home offices, and this time they looked past Julie Pajaniaye's home workplace. Julie Pajaniayes is dental hygienist and research project coordinator at IOOS, and in the article she tells how it is somewhat monotonous and hard to be working from home: “But there is always that feeling that it is just temporary, just a few more weeks. Simple Futarmal Kothari receives International Association for Dental Research Award
Postdoc at Section for Orofacial Pain and Jaw Function, Simple Futarmal Kothari, has been awarded the IADR INfORM Barry J. Sessle Postdoctoral Award with a $1000 on the project titled “Effect of experimental bracing and thrusting of the mandible on painful and non-painful symptoms”. Congratulations!
