With Ole Bækgaard as its head, the Department of Public Health is getting a person who is both an ‘outsider' and has in-depth knowledge of Health’s culture and managerial work. He comes from a position as professor of medical physiology at the Department of Biomedicine, and at the same time he also runs a pharmaceutical company that he co-founded. 56-year-old Ole Bækgaard Nielsen graduated as a biologist and has a PhD from Aarhus University.
