On Friday 11 December at 13:00, Jean Paul Uwizihiwe defends his PhD dissertation entitled "Community- and mHealth-Based Integrated Management of Diabetes in Primary Healthcare in Rwanda (D²Rwanda Project)"
The overall aim of the D2Rwanda project is to determine the efficacy of an integrated programme for the management of diabetes in primary health care in Rwanda, which provides the following: a) regular patient assessments and disease management by the Home-Based Care Practitioner participating in the Ministry of Health programme; b) facilitated access to a mobile health application for patient education and self-management of the disease. The study includes a cluster-randomised controlled trial, and a qualitative phase aiming at exploring how the intervention will be conducted, and the impact of context-related factors.
