Friday 18 December at 14:00, Lene Wulff Krogsgaard defends her PhD dissertation entitled "HPV vaccination and suspected adverse events - the role of prior health status".
In 2015, a small fraction of HPV vaccinated females reported severe adverse events after the HPV vaccination. All available evidence has found the HPV vaccine to be safe and effective and it largely remains unknown why some of these females got ill? Investigation of other potential explanations for the suspected adverse events are highly important, both in order to be able to tailor the treatment of the affected females and to avoid similar vaccine crises in the future. In the Ph.d. project, the association between prior health status (in terms of of previous hospitalizations and infections) and the risk of suspected adverse events after the HPV vaccine has been investigated.
The summary is written by the PhD student.
The defence is public and takes place online via Zoom. Please read the attached press release for more information.
