2020.11.10 | Signe Schou

The university elections have started, and you can now vote for the candidate you want to represent you and your field.

Members of academic staff can vote for candidates to local boards of studies and PhD committees.

And there is good reason for you to vote, because important topics are discussed by the various councils, boards and committees at Aarhus University. The boards of studies prepare suggestions for academic regulations, ensure follow-up on teaching assessments and approve exam schedules, for example. The PhD committees work with topics such as the range of PhD courses, the content of PhD programmes and the evaluation of supervision activities.

At Natural Sciences, both academic and administrative staff, as well as employed PhD students can also vote for the academic council. So can employed PhD students at Technical Sciences. The academic council discusses academic issues such as the faculty's strategy, budgets and recruitment policy.
