In his research, John Acquavella studies the frequency of diseases that have significance for public health. These are diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other chronic conditions.

Epidemiologist new professor at AU and AUH

John Acquavella has just been appointed professor at Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital. He conducts research into how frequent diseases with significance for public health are seen, factors that are associated with increases or decreases of these diseases, and how effective the treatment of these diseases is.

In November, all employees at Health were asked to participate in a user survey about Health’s newsletter, Inside Health.

The user survey on the subject of Inside Health has been completed. A total of 411 employees contributed with important inputs and comments. The editors will now begin the work of sifting through the data.

New discovery: This is why we do not constantly get ill despite viruses and bacteria

New research breaks with existing knowledge about how our immune system works. Experiments at Aarhus University have shown how the body mobilises a hitherto unknown defence against viruses and bacteria. This also explains why we do not constantly get ill despite the viruses around us.
