The OK18 labour dispute has been postponed again

On the night of 17 April, the official conciliator decided to postpone the strike and lockout for up to two weeks.

Johanne Korsdal Sørensen has previously studied the scale of substance use disorders among medical doctors in a survey among 4,000 members of the Danish Medical Association. Here she found that 2.5 per cent of the respondents had a harmful level of alcohol consumption. A total of 19 per cent of participants were screened to have a ‘risky' alcohol consumption – that is to say a level of alcohol consumption that is potentially harmful and can cause alcohol use disorder.

Fear of dismissal or of losing their authorisation keeps medical doctors trapped in their substance use disorders, and instead of seeking help they attempt self-treatment. This is shown by a new study from Aarhus University.

Large grant to strengthen research into the body’s defence mechanisms

Søren Riis Paludan, professor at the Department of Biomedicine, has received DKK 10 million from the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s Distinguished Investigator-grant. He will use this grant to investigate how the body defends itself against infection.

The negotiation of Health's new salary agreement catalogue is now complete. The catalogue will be in force up until and including March 2020.

The faculty gets a new salary agreement catalogue

The salary agreement catalogue for employees at Health has been revised with the department-specific information and layout in particular receiving an overhaul.

From the 17th of April until the 4th of June 2018, associate professors at Health can seek funds for research projects. The pool is intended for associate professors who invest particular effort in the teaching sphere, and whose research activities are international in nature.

Research and the general data protection regulation – what are we doing at Health?

Hardly anyone can fail to have noticed that a new data protection regulation comes into force on 25 May this year. The rules and regulations are being tightened to ensure and document that personal data is handled, stored and processed in a secure manner.
