Inside the Coronavirus

A webinar with Dr Andrea Thorn, Universität Hamburg. The Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 consists of a multitude of small and macro-molecules, which enable it to infect and hijack host cells. Experiments at large facilities like DESY or MAX IV shed light on these atomic structures and helps us to understand the viral life cycle.

Danish BioImaging Meeting 2021 – part 1

Danish BioImaging Meeting – part 1 Virtual

Due to COVID-19 we have decided to split the Danish BioImaging Meeting into a virtual part (Nov 11, 2020) and a physical part (May 2021). This virtual part will contain a morning and an afternoon session. Deadline for registration is 9 November.

“A great shame for the students – and a real drag for us”

Switching to online teaching is not enough in itself. That much is clear seven months after corona initially interrupted on-site teaching at the university. At the same time, changing guidelines and frequent teaching reorganisations have been really challenging, according to two members of the faculty’s teaching staff.

New Doctor of Medical Science conducts research into pain after whiplash

Some people develop long lasting injuries and pain after suffering whiplash, while others do not. Clinical associate professor, PhD and newly appointed Doctor of Medical Science Helge Kasch from Aarhus University and the Regional Hospital Central Jutland, has developed a model that can assess the risk of long-term complications.

Psychiatry research leads to major scientific award

Professor Søren Dinesen Østergaard from Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital – Psychiatry Services receives the Lundbeck Foundation’s Young Investigator Award 2020 in recognition of his efforts to develop new tools for measuring the severity of psychiatric disorders and the effectiveness of treatment.
