Jeanette Falck Winther is a researcher and consultant at the Danish Cancer Society and now also a new professor at Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital. Here she will conduct research into delayed complications experienced by children with cancer and expand collaboration with clinical colleagues who treat, care for and support children with cancer during and after hospitalisation.

The treatment of children with cancer is a medical success. Eighty-five per cent of all children with cancer are cured and many children live a good life after their treatment for cancer. But some experience complications such as e.g. heart disease later in life. Mapping these delayed complications is the focal point of Jeanette Falck Winther's research.
Her research will describe which diseases children are at risk of contracting and how follow-up on the children should take place in the delayed complication clinics once treatment is completed. By treating the consequences of cancer at an early stage it is possible to ensure that the children are given the best possible future.
Jeanette Falck Winther's professorship is a shared position between the Danish Cancer Society and Aarhus University. The professorship is financed by the Danish Cancer Society.
