Ask Vest Christiansen's research focuses both on doping cultures in elite sport and on performance-enhancing drugs in fitness environments.

Ask Vest Christiansen's research focuses both on doping cultures in elite sport and on performance-enhancing drugs in fitness environments.

Doping is not reserved for competitive environments and elite sport; recreational athletes in gyms and fitness centres also take doping so they can perform better and get bigger muscles.

The purpose of the grant from Erasmus and the EU that Ask Vest Christiansen has received is to investigate how doping in recreational athletic environments in the 28 EU countries can be stopped. In connection with this, the project will also look at the possibilities for a joint regulation of dietary sports supplements in Europe.

The project’s ambition is to share the experiences of best practice in the area with all relevant stakeholders such as sports associations, the industry and decision-makers.
