Health researcher receives the Jens Christian Skou Fellowship

Søren Dinesen Østergaard from the Department of Clinical Medicine will be the Jens Christian Skou Junior Fellow at the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS).

On 1 October 2017, Søren Dinesen Østergaard will begin a fellowship at AIAS, Aarhus University, where he will work on the project "Translational studies of mental disorder".

Søren Dinesen Østergaard carries out research into mental disorders from a 'translational' starting point. He is involved in research projects that cover the entire spectrum from pre-clinical studies of animal models of mental disorders, to clinical studies of people with mental disorders and register-based studies of mental disorders on a population-wide level. 

Søren Dinesen Østergaard will continue in his position as associate professor of translational psychiatry at the Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University concurrently with his fellowship at AIAS. 

AIAS has awarded a total of 15 fellowships with commencement on 1 October 2017. Of these, only three are Jens Christian Skou Fellowships, which are reserved for employees at AU.
