Trine Hyrup Mogensen conducts research into the genetic and immunological background for serious infectious diseases, with special focus on viral infections in the central nervous system such as encephalitis and meningitis.

With a better understanding of the immunological mechanisms involved in fighting infectious diseases – and in particular what happens when these defence systems fail to function – Trine Hyrup Mogensen hopes to be able to produce new knowledge that can be transferred to clinical practice and provide better prevention and treatment of patients with infectious diseases.
