Restructuring of parking spaces around Vennelyst Boulevard

Some parking spaces will be closed while others will be established in connection with the start of construction of the new Biomedicine building. In addition, Aarhus Municipality’s work on the light rail transit project will also affect parking.

The construction of the new Biomedicine building on the corner of Høegh-Guldbergs Gade and Vennelyst Boulevard will start around 1 October. The temporary parking spaces located where the former Officers' Building (Building 1090) was located will therefore now become part of the construction site. The car park will be cordoned off from approx. 22 September to prepare the construction site. At the same time, the 42 public parking spaces on Vennelyst Boulevard will be closed from around 1 November until the end of 2016.

Replacements for these parking spaces have already been established. There are 100 spaces to the south of Bioscience (Building 1540). These can be accessed via Ny Munkegade. In addition, there are 44 spaces on the grass area between Biomedicine (formerly Biochemistry, Building 1170) and Molecular Biology (Building 1137) on Ole Worms Allé. The approximately 40 parking spaces at the School of Dentistry’s Grønnegaard will remain in use.

The parking spaces are temporary, as new parking spaces will be established in the new building.

The light rail transit project closes parking spaces

The light rail transit project will also affect parking for a time. In the near future one of the car parks in front of the Victor Albeck building will be temporarily cordoned off once Aarhus Municipality begins the process of constructing the light rail transit along Randersvej next to the building.

About 32 new parking spaces have therefore been established on the lawn next to the Victor Albeck building. Employees at the Department of Public Health have access to these parking spaces which are located behind the barrier in their existing car park.
