Thursday 3 December at 15:00, Søren Helbo Skaarup defends his PhD dissertation entitled "Intralymphatic immunotherapy".
Grass pollen allergy is a disease with a high symptom burden for the affected individual and of great socioeconomic importance due to its high prevalence. Allergen-specific immunotherapy is the only treatment that changes the underling disease mechanisms. Unfortunately, current therapies are expensive, complicated, and have many side effects. Therefore, many patients do not complete the treatment or do not start at all. Thus, there are many untreated patients in Denmark and other westernised countries and there is a need for better treatments.
The summary is written by the PhD student.
The defence is public and takes place in Auditorium A (G206-154), Aarhus University Hospital, Palle Juul-Jensens Boulevard 99, 8200 Aarhus N. Registration is necessary due to covid-19. Please read the attached press release for more information.
