This year, three inspirational presentations will provide the framework for health's Education Fair. Under the theme ‘Lecturers’ motivation and well-being’, the faculty's lecturers and course coordinators will have the chance to learn more about what motivates and challenges university lecturers in 2021. The presentations provide inspiration and input on the time after the lockdown and restrictions, which will once again offer better conditions for teaching and academic activities with in person attendance.

"We have rightly talked a lot about the students' well-being in recent years. But the role of the lecturers and their motivation and well-being is just as important. This is the starting point for this year's Education Fair and I hope that the presentations and discussions can give us a shared basis for the continuing work with motivation and well-being, ”says Vice-dean for Education Lise Wogensen Bach.

Like just about everything else, Health's Education Fair 2021 takes place online on Tuesday 27 April between 11:00 -15:00 on Zoom. Registration via Conference Manager.

Three presentations on motivation and well-being

  • INSPIRATIONAL PRESENTATION 1: 'Lecturers’ motivation and well-being' by Associate Professor Steen Nepper Larsen, The Danish School of Education. The presentation is about the role of the lecturer, the learning space in 2021, and what motivates and supports (university) lecturers well-being.
  • INSPIRATIONAL PRESENTATION 2: 'Teacher identity in the time of Covid-19' by Associate Professor Mette Krogh Christensen, Aarhus University's Centre for Educational Development (CED). The presentation presents the preliminary results of a research project on how university lecturers find their identity as teachers challenged during the Covid-19 lockdown and how this affects well-being and motivation.
  • INSPIRATIONAL PRESENTATION 3: 'Lecturers’ motivation and well-being' by Associate Professor Katarina Mårtensson, Lund University. The presentation is based on research on microcultures and focuses on the theme: What defines the collegial community for a university lecturer? – including how the collegial community has an effect on motivation and well-being.

All three presentations will be followed by questions and discussion, with a lunch break also included in the programme. A so-called Padlet note will be prepared and subsequently shared with all participants. It is intended as a shared starting point for further work on the topic.

Health's Education Fair is relevant for everyone who teaches or is otherwise involved in teaching and education.
