VIDEO: Who will win this year’s Fogh-Nielsen award?

When this year's PhD Day takes place on 22 January, it will be Health's biggest online event ever. But although the event has been moved online, its traditions are maintained, and three of the faculty's most talented PhD students will, as always, compete in the annual Fogh-Nielsen competition. Watch a very brief presentation of each research project here.

At the PhD Day, it will be decided, which of the three finalists will win the main prize in the Fogh-Nielsen competition.

This time around Zoom – and not the Lakeside Lecture Theatres – will be hosting the faculty's PhD day 2021. And when more than 400 PhD students, research year students, supervisors and spectators get together at the end of the month, the event will set a new record as the biggest online event in the faculty's history.

This year, everything will be different when poster sessions, flash-talks and keynote speeches are conducted online; nonetheless, the organisation committee has a programme that is similar to an ordinary PhD Day.

This means that participants will not be denied the annual Fogh-Nielsen competition, where three talented PhD students will compete in both research and communication skills. They will be competing for a share of the DKK 125,000 prize money.

Here you can see the videos with the three finalists, and this year they have made their own video.

Kasper Glerup Lauridsen, Department of Clinical Medicine, conducts research into hospital staff’s collaboration in the treatment of patients with cardiac arrest.

Andreas Halgren Eiset, Department of Public Health, conducts research into the public health consequences of migration.

Thor Haahr, Department of Clinical Medicine, conducts research into the significance of harmful bacteria for infertility in women.
