VIDEO: Why do we need to develop the medical degree programme now?

The medical degree programme is facing a vision and strategy development process. But why is this necessary? Listen to what the initiator of the vision process, Charlotte Ringsted – who is Vice-dean for Education at Health – says about the thinking behind the project.

A development process is now beginning for the degree programmes at Health, and the medical degree programme is first up. This means a range of stakeholders will take a closer look at whether the degree programme's content matches the reality which the students will meet after they graduate – and not just today but also in the future.

On 5-6 April, employers, lecturers, course managers and students are meeting for a workshop to look into the demands that the degree programme will face in the future.

It is still uncertain whether the development process will lead to changes to the degree programme in medicine, as this depends on the gap between the vision that the process culminates in and the current degree programme.

The vision for the medical degree programme will be ready during the spring.
