Student research celebrates its 10th anniversary

Ten years ago the Society for Medical Student Research was founded to further health and medical science research among the students. A record number of students today make use of the society.

Aarhus researchers are honoured with scholarship from animal lovers

Jan Frystyk and Lars Uhrenholt from Aarhus have each received a scholarship worth DKK 200,000. The scholarship has been awarded by Frøknerne Anna and Dagny Hjerrilds Foundation and is for the abolition of animal testing in scientific research.

Initiatives to minimise the number of layoffs

Following discussions with the union representatives in the Main Liaison Committee, the senior management team introduced a modified hiring freeze starting on 16 December and has agreed to the union representatives’ proposal to include voluntary redundancy packages in budget deliberations. Modified hiring freeze until the summer

After meeting with the Main Liaison Committee on Friday, the senior management team has decided to impose a modified hiring freeze. This means that positions can only be advertised externally in exceptional cases. The hiring freeze will come into effect on Monday 16 December.

Salary negotiations postponed

The 2014 salary negotiations will be delayed by sixth months. 2014 salary agreements will, however, still apply from 1 April 2014, even though they will not be concluded until the autumn.
