Cancer researcher appointed as new professor at AU and AUH

Jesper Grau Eriksen has just been appointed professor at Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital. Here he will help to strengthen the oncology department’s research into personalised medicine, including individualised radiation therapy for patients with cancer of the mouth, pharynx and throat.

General practitioners’ home visit habits determine where patients die

The more a general practitioner prioritises home visits to patients in general, the greater the likelihood that the doctor's most ill patients will die at home. This is shown by a new study of the role played by the general practitioner for terminally ill cancer patients, which AU researcher Anna K. Winthereik hopes will start a debate.

Microfunding

The Aarhus University Research Foundation now offers microfunding grants for 2017. In total, DKK 200,000 will be available in microfunding. Each grant is in the amount of DKK 25,000.

Increased international competition for full PhD fellowships – but first from autumn 2018

From the autumn of 2018, 16 fully-financed PhD fellowships and scholarships at Health will be sent in open international calls with given project titles. This will ensure greater diversity among the field of applicants, increased competition and improved quality, while creating more transparency and giving the departments a new strategic tool.
