Match Making Day hosted by Selskab for Medicinsk Studenterforskning (SMS)

Match Making Day is the biggest networking event on faculty of Health at Aarhus University, and is a new initiative by Selskab for Medicinsk Studenterforskning and Health AU aiming to promote the transdisciplinary work between students and researchers along with external companies. The purpose is to gain insight into different study opportunities.

Katherine Gill gave a talk on “The science behind bias” at a pop-up event hosted by TEDx Aarhus, located at the Kvindemuseet in August 2019. Using her neuroscience background, Katherine spoke about how the brain innately makes associations for predicting future scenarios, and that this is the basic mechanism behind unconscious bias. Does a Japanese medication for heartburn work on corona patients?

Researchers from Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital have received DKK 5 million from the Lundbeck Foundation to test whether a Japanese medication against heartburn can be used to treat the new corona virus (COVID-19).

Cardiologist Hans Erik Bøtker will be the new vice-dean of health research at Aarhus University

Professor Hans Erik Bøtker will take up the position of Vice-dean for Research at the Faculty of Health at Aarhus University in August. He brings 37 years of experience as a medical doctor and researcher in the field of cardiology together with a solid international network.
