Dust at work can lead to rheumatic diseases

If you are exposed to silica (quartz) dust at work – e.g. from working with concrete and granite – you have a greater risk of certain types of rheumatic disease. This is shown by results from Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital, which have just been published in the International Journal of Epidemiology.

Grant secures research into the side effects of the corona vaccine

Dorte Rytter and Bodil Hammer Bech, both associate professors at Aarhus University's Department of Public Health, are to investigate side effects that can be related to the new vaccines against Covid-19. They are heading a cross-disciplinary research project BiCoVac that has received DKK two million from the Trygfonden.

Can cirrhosis of the liver be treated with faeces transplantation?

Researchers from Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital replace sick intestinal bacteria with intestinal bacteria from healthy donors in a treatment intended to help patients with cirrhosis of the liver. The Novo Nordisk Foundation supports the project with just over DKK 13 million.

Cardiologist appointed professor, department chair

Jens Cosedis Nielsen is the new professor, department chair of cardiology at Aarhus University and Aarhus University Hospital. The new professorship is a strengthening of the section of cardiac research that improves the prognosis and quality of life of patients suffering from cardiac arrhythmias.
